Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Supply Chain Engineer for the Starlink Aviation team to manage supplier quality activities and improve metrics for hardware used in Starlink Aeroterminal products. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools.

Who you are

You have a strong background in supply chain management and quality assurance, with a focus on improving quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics. You possess comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools, and you are motivated to enable suppliers for success. Your experience includes collaborating with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to gain an in-depth understanding of piece parts and assembly processes. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are adept at managing tactical supplier quality activities with operational rigor. You understand the importance of reducing supply chain risk through external evaluations and internal risk reviews, and you are skilled in leading failure investigations.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace or aviation industry is a plus, as is familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and have a proven track record of driving source qualification activities. Your analytical skills allow you to identify and resolve vendor-caused defects quickly, ensuring high service levels to all stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for managing supplier quality activities, focusing on improving metrics for hardware used in Starlink Aeroterminal products. You will collaborate closely with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to ensure that suppliers meet SpaceX's high standards for quality and performance. You will lead failure investigations and proactively drive source qualification activities to mitigate supply chain risks. Your role will involve providing high service levels to all stakeholders and helping to focus engineering resources on high-priority actions. You will work on eliminating the impact of vendor-caused defects on SpaceX engineering and production through rapid defect containment and resolution.
