Senior Software Engineer (Developer Tools and AI)

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on developing tools that enhance the developer experience. You are technically curious and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve productivity. Your passion for AI developer tools drives you to advocate for their adoption and best practices within a large engineering organization.

You possess a deep understanding of modern cloud infrastructure and have experience working with internal platforms that support development, debugging, and deployment processes. You are comfortable mentoring others and influencing team strategies, even without direct management responsibilities. You thrive in a collaborative environment where empathy and teamwork are valued.

Desirable

Experience with AI technologies and tools is a plus, as is a background in advocating for their use in engineering practices. Familiarity with automation and internal tooling development will help you excel in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development of AI developer tooling at Squarespace, focusing on improving the efficiency of code shipping for engineers. You will promote best practices for AI tool adoption and provide expert guidance and training to peers on integrating these tools into their daily workflows. Your work will directly impact the productivity of the engineering organization, making the lives of developers easier.

You will collaborate closely with engineers across Product, Platform, and Infrastructure teams to understand their needs and develop solutions that address their challenges. Your role will involve building and supporting tools that streamline development processes, enabling engineers to focus on delivering high-quality code.

You will also have opportunities to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers. By advocating for AI utilization across multiple teams, you will take ownership of AI adoption strategies and ensure that best practices are followed throughout the organization.
