Overview

Carvana is seeking an Auto Body Combo Tech to perform extensive bodywork and train other technicians. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of professional automotive bodywork experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a minimum of 5 years of professional automotive bodywork experience, showcasing your expertise in various bodywork techniques. Your background includes heavy plastic welding, metal pulling, straightening, and stud welding, which are essential for the role. You are comfortable with large area bodywork, including Bondo repair, and have a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality results. As an experienced technician, you are also prepared to train and mentor other autobody technicians, sharing your knowledge and skills to foster a collaborative work environment.

You understand the importance of using state-of-the-art tools and equipment in a high-tech inspection center, and you are committed to maintaining a safe and efficient workspace. Your ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is crucial for effective communication with your team and adherence to safety protocols. You are at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license, ensuring you can perform your duties without any hindrances.

Desirable

While not mandatory, having certifications such as ASE can enhance your qualifications and demonstrate your commitment to professional development. Experience with various automotive brands and models will also be beneficial in this role, as it allows you to adapt quickly to different repair needs.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for performing extensive bodywork on multiple panels of vehicles, ensuring that all repairs meet Carvana's high standards. You will utilize your skills in heavy plastic welding and metal pulling to address various bodywork challenges effectively. Your expertise in roof and rocker panel repair will be crucial for restoring vehicles to their original condition. You will also handle large area bodywork, including Bondo repair, which requires precision and attention to detail.

As a key member of the team, you will train and mentor other autobody technicians, sharing your knowledge and best practices to enhance their skills. You will collaborate with your colleagues to ensure that all vehicles are prepared for delivery to customers, maintaining Carvana's reputation for quality and service.
