Flex is seeking a Director of State Government Affairs & Public Policy to oversee their state government affairs strategy nationwide. This role requires strong political judgment and policy expertise to advance policies that improve the financial stability of renters across the United States.

Who you are

You are a senior, strategic, and entrepreneurial leader with a proven track record in government affairs and public policy. You possess strong political judgment and policy expertise, enabling you to navigate complex regulatory environments effectively. Your experience includes representing organizations before state policymakers and advocacy groups, advocating for policies that enhance financial stability for renters. You understand the intersection of innovation, regulation, and trust, and you are adept at anticipating challenges and opportunities in the policy landscape. You are motivated by the mission to empower renters and improve their financial experiences.

Desirable

Experience in the FinTech sector or related industries is a plus. Familiarity with state-level regulatory frameworks and advocacy strategies will enhance your effectiveness in this role. You have a network of contacts within state government and advocacy organizations that can be leveraged to advance Flex's mission. A background in public policy analysis or legislative affairs will be beneficial as you shape the state policy environment.

What you'll do

As the Director of State Government Affairs, you will oversee Flex's state government affairs strategy across the nation. You will represent the company before state policymakers, regulators, and advocacy organizations, working to advance policies that support the financial stability of millions of renters. Your role will involve shaping the policy environment to enable Flex's growth and operational integrity. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to align government affairs strategies with business objectives, ensuring that Flex's voice is heard in legislative discussions. You will monitor and analyze state-level policy developments, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team. Additionally, you will lead efforts to build relationships with key stakeholders and advocate for policies that align with Flex's mission.
