Job Description

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

Netflix is building the world’s leading entertainment platform, offering great films, series, live shows, and games that push the boundaries of storytelling and delight members of all ages and tastes across the world. We launch a high volume of titles regularly to meet the entertainment needs of our growing member base.

The scale and quality at which we launch titles are paramount to our success in bringing these stories to the right audience at the right time. The Launch Management team ensures that we launch our portfolio of titles at the highest quality and in the most efficient way possible to maximise member joy.

We are looking for a seasoned Launch Manager to join the Product Merchandising team based out of the Paris office to help spearhead the launch and handling of our exciting new TF1 distribution partnership.

The role reports directly to the Director, Product Merchandising (France & Benelux), who is based in Amsterdam.

Role Overview

The Launch Manager role is a key part of the Product Merchandising team focused on driving innovative approaches, developing scalable solutions, working with cross-functional teams to drive promotional impact on the Netflix experience and driving excellence in every single one of our launches so that we can work smarter, increase efficiency and more importantly, increase joy for our consumers on the Netflix platform.

This role is unique as its scope requires a deep understanding of our product behaviour and a mindset that is equally precise on local execution as it is on strategic judgment calls.

The Launch Manager’s role is to optimise and successfully launch the TF1+ content within our Netflix Interface and deliver on our product merchandising strategy through effective management of the TF1+ Portfolio, leading cross-functional and partner teams to alignment.

Thorough knowledge of local and vertical strategies, connecting business nuances with content and member experiences, and technical troubleshooting, paired with strong partnership investment with local stakeholders, will be critical to our success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management: Own the TF1+ Netflix portfolio of titles, including the linear feed. While multiple teams (internal or external) become involved at different times throughout the launch journey to deliver results, you will oversee the quality of the launch as our operational throughline for the local Product Merch.

  • Expert Advice: Be an expert of the Netflix product and advise our local stakeholders on means to improve how members interact with the titles on the Netflix platform.

  • Quality Assurance: Maintain the quality of the launch and mitigate risk to launch by being proactive, exercising sound judgment, and informing and influencing stakeholders.

  • Collaboration: Partner with internal and external teams, serving as the primary point of contact for strategic operational matters related to the titles. Additionally, contribute to a thriving global Launch Management Community.

  • Process Evaluation: Continuously evaluate our workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in launching titles.

  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot urgent issues cross-functionally and jump in operationally as needed, in service of the member experience.

  • This role is an individual contributor role but works closely with colleagues across our Product org, Merchandising, Content Platform Operations & Publishing, Product Metadata & Ratings, Globalisation, Post-Production, and other teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 12+ years of experience in project/program management, within a fast-paced Content and/or Entertainment space.

  • Analytical Mindset: Data-based impact and a bias towards solving for scale.

  • Product Knowledge: Be well-informed of the Netflix product experience.

  • Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management skills (clear communication style and strong ability to influence) and a good team player.

  • Operational Passion: A passion for Operations and a thirst to do more with less, to work smarter, not harder.

  • Accountability: Happy to take accountability and drive initiatives.

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in French and English is required.

  • Balanced Thinking: A good balance of left and right-brain thinking - with the ability to understand the pulse of our consumers and put oneself in the consumers' shoes, an appreciation of content nuances and needs, and fluency to articulate product principles.

  • Cultural Fit: The ability to exemplify the Netflix culture and values.

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
