Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development or 1 year with an advanced degree in an industry setting. Your background includes developing infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, and you possess experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. You are proficient in TypeScript and have a solid understanding of enterprise software architecture and full-stack development. Your experience extends to Google Cloud Platform and software engineering principles. You may also hold a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, with 3 years of experience in training, developing, or applying machine learning models. You have a proven track record in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and you are familiar with software design and architecture. You are skilled in one or more coding languages, including TypeScript, Go, Kotlin, and Java, and have experience with developer tools such as VSCode or IntelliJ.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer at Google, you will contribute to the development of next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. You will collaborate with peers and stakeholders to lead design reviews and select among available technologies. Your role will involve triaging product or system issues, debugging, and tracking resolutions by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. You will also contribute to existing documentation or educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback. Your work will require you to bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing.
