Overview

Okta is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to enhance their build and release infrastructure. You'll work with AWS and automation tools to support continuous delivery. This role requires experience in developing CI/CD pipelines.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on build and release processes — your experience includes developing Continuous Delivery pipelines for various projects, ensuring smooth and efficient software deployment. You are skilled in scripting and automation, understanding the importance of these skills in enhancing engineering workflows. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with Development, QA, and Operations teams to innovate and improve build and automation infrastructure. Your familiarity with the latest technologies, particularly from AWS, allows you to experiment and implement new solutions effectively. You are a lifelong learner, eager to adapt and grow with the evolving technology landscape.

Desirable

Experience with tools and technologies that support CI/CD processes is a plus — you are comfortable recommending and implementing new technologies that can enhance the build and release cycle. You have a proactive approach to collecting feedback from internal customers and fine-tuning projects to meet their needs, demonstrating your commitment to continuous improvement.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving Okta's highly-automated build, release, and testing infrastructure. You will create and code tools for internal use that support continuous delivery, ensuring that the engineering team can deploy software efficiently and reliably. Collaborating with peers and stakeholders, you will innovate and enhance the build and automation infrastructure, making significant contributions to the overall efficiency of the engineering processes. You will also monitor the adoption of new tools and processes, collecting feedback to refine and improve them based on internal customer needs. Your work will directly impact the quality and speed of software delivery at Okta, helping to maintain the company's reputation as a leader in identity management.
