Your experience with Kubernetes is extensive, and you are familiar with various cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, and Azure. You understand the intricacies of infrastructure as code and have a track record of ensuring reliability and cost efficiency in cloud environments. You are passionate about developer ergonomics and strive to create systems that enhance productivity.

You are a problem solver who can translate complex requirements into simple, reliable designs. You have experience with customer-managed deployments and understand the challenges that come with them. Your communication skills allow you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned and working towards common goals.

Desirable

Experience as an early backend/platform/infrastructure engineer at another company is a plus. Familiarity with data platforms and analytics/BI tools will set you apart. You are always eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, and you enjoy mentoring junior engineers to help them grow in their careers.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer at Decagon, you will be responsible for building and operating the core infrastructure that powers our conversational AI platform. You will work closely with product, data, and machine learning teams to deliver high-scale, low-latency systems that meet clear service level objectives. Your role will involve designing and implementing the foundational cloud stack, including networking, compute, storage, and security.

You will lead initiatives to optimize our data infrastructure, ensuring that our streaming and batch data platforms are robust and efficient. Your expertise in Kubernetes will be crucial as you manage container orchestration and deployment strategies across multiple cloud environments. You will also be involved in enhancing our developer platform, focusing on improving developer experience and productivity.

Collaboration is key in this role, and you will partner with various teams to ensure that our infrastructure meets the needs of our AI agents. You will participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the technical direction of the team.
