Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for the Mechazilla project at the Starship launch pad. You'll be involved in hardware development, including design and analysis of large-scale mechanisms and fluid systems. This role requires expertise in mechanical engineering and CAD software.

Who you are

You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and possess 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis. You are skilled in using CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and you have a strong understanding of fluid dynamics and mechanical systems. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to groundbreaking space technology. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges. You have a passion for innovation and are excited about the prospect of enabling human life on other planets.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Mechazilla project, you will support the development of the Starship Tower and Launch Mount. You will be responsible for designing welded structures and large-scale mechanisms that are critical to the launch process. Your role will involve the analysis and integration of electromechanical and fluid power actuation systems, ensuring they operate efficiently under various conditions. You will work closely with other engineers to develop and test prototypes, iterating on designs based on performance data. You will also participate in the manufacturing and activation phases, ensuring that all systems meet rigorous safety and performance standards. Your contributions will directly impact the rapid iteration and improvement of the Starship program, allowing SpaceX to achieve its ambitious goals.
