AIML - Machine Learning Engineer, Foundation Models

Who you are

You have a proven track record in training or deploying large models or building large-scale distributed systems — your experience has equipped you with the skills to tackle complex challenges in deep learning. Proficient programming skills in Python are second nature to you, and you are familiar with deep learning toolkits such as JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with engineers and researchers to push the boundaries of technology. A PhD or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related technical field is part of your background, showcasing your commitment to the field.

Desirable

Experience with web-scale information retrieval and developing human-like conversation agents is a plus. You have a keen interest in multi-modal perception for existing products and future hardware platforms, and you are excited about the potential of on-device intelligence to enhance user experiences.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be part of a close-knit and fast-growing team of world-class engineers and scientists at Apple, tackling some of the most challenging problems in foundation models and deep learning. You will work on understanding and generating text, images, speech, videos, and other modalities, applying these models to enhance Apple products. Your contributions will directly impact millions of users, as you help build the infrastructure and datasets necessary for these advanced models. You will engage in research that applies learning to real-world use cases, driving important breakthroughs in the field. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key, as you partner with product teams to integrate these models into user-facing applications.
