Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on infrastructure projects within Google Cloud. You'll leverage your expertise in C++ and distributed systems to design and maintain configuration management solutions. This role requires 5+ years of experience and offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in software development using C++. Your background includes designing, implementing, and maintaining configuration management solutions for system deployments and updates. You are skilled in managing software release cycles for products or platforms and have experience performing functional testing on software systems. A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred, along with experience in developing embedded systems and firmware design, implementation, and deployment.
You have a strong understanding of distributed systems and are familiar with messaging patterns such as Request-Response and PubSub, as well as brokers like Kafka and ZeroMQ. Your knowledge extends to server-level protocols and technologies, including Redfish, I2C, PLDM, NVMe-MI, and MCTP. You are passionate about developing the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Google, you will work on critical infrastructure projects that support New Product Introductions (NPIs). You will modernize legacy systems using innovative approaches to enhance fleet stability and NPI velocity. Your role will involve maintaining and supporting large-scale fleet systems to ensure continuous operational stability. You will also develop and integrate automated test infrastructure and suites optimized for performance across varied hardware configurations.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the software you develop meets the high standards expected at Google. This includes participating in design reviews, contributing to architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers.
