Google is seeking an Accounting Operations Lead for Cloud Revenue to manage financial and accounting matters. You'll work with GAAP and ASC 606 standards, requiring a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and relevant experience.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function. If you hold an advanced degree, you can qualify with just 1 year of experience. Your expertise includes a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), particularly focusing on Revenue (ASC 606) Accounting in a public accounting or multinational company setting. You are also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA), which is preferred for this role. Your ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and international teams is essential, as is your excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
As an Accounting Operations Lead at Google, you will be a key member of the Google Cloud Controller team, which handles core accounting and compliance responsibilities. You will advise on financial and accounting matters, reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting data for accounting and reporting. Your role will involve performing detailed accounting analysis of complex business transactions with multiple performance obligations and preparing adjusting entries as necessary. You will collaborate with internal business teams to develop scalable and repeatable processes that ensure appropriate revenue recognition. Identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to streamline processes in collaboration with cross-functional leads will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will perform monthly and quarterly business close procedures and assist with ad-hoc accounting projects to support proper revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP.
