Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you understand the intricacies of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure and are committed to ensuring seamless operations. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting electrical equipment and mechanical systems makes you a critical guardian of technological infrastructure. You have a keen understanding of data center operations and the importance of uptime — your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, which is essential for powering global digital experiences. You are detail-oriented and proactive, always looking for ways to improve processes and enhance system reliability. Your ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers and specialists is one of your key strengths.
Experience with diesel generators and related fuel systems is a plus — you understand the operational requirements of these systems and can troubleshoot issues effectively. Familiarity with three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs, will set you apart as a candidate. You are also comfortable working with cooling systems, such as centrifugal chillers and cooling towers, and have a basic understanding of pumps and motors.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting Data Center Operations' Mission Critical Facilities — your hands-on approach will ensure that all electrical and mechanical equipment is functioning optimally. You will work closely with a team of engineers to monitor systems and respond to any issues that arise, ensuring that our data centers operate at peak efficiency. Your role will involve regular inspections and maintenance of equipment, as well as implementing preventive measures to avoid downtime.
You will also participate in the design and planning of new infrastructure projects, providing valuable insights based on your operational experience. Collaborating with other teams, you will help to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance system performance. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability of our services, making you an integral part of the team that keeps the cloud running.
