Experience with spacecraft design and development is a plus, as is familiarity with testing and validation processes for mechanical systems. A background in aerospace engineering or related fields will enhance your ability to contribute to our mission of expanding humanity's reach beyond Earth.
In this role, you will be responsible for conceiving, developing, and designing precision electromechanical systems that can withstand the extreme conditions encountered in space. You will ensure that your designs meet mission requirements and adhere to industry standards. As a Principal Engineer, you will provide ongoing training and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
You will collaborate with engineering teams to integrate mechanical systems into spacecraft and satellite platforms, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together. Your role will also involve creating and executing test plans for mechanical systems, performing performance and reliability testing to validate system functionality and compliance with specifications.
Additionally, you will address and resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems, troubleshooting problems and implementing corrective actions as needed. You will prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and technical manuals, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and accessible.
