Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to develop solutions for the Bluetooth stack in ChromeOS. You'll work with C++, Java, and Python, focusing on embedded systems and Bluetooth software development. This role requires 2+ years of experience in software development.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and you have at least 2 years of experience in software development using programming languages such as C++, Java, and Python. Your background includes systems programming or operating system internals, particularly with Linux, Android, or ChromeOS. You are well-versed in data structures and algorithms, which are essential for effective software engineering. Ideally, you possess a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, along with 3 years of experience in embedded systems or mobile platform development. You have hands-on experience developing and debugging Bluetooth software stacks and core profiles, and you are familiar with Android device development, applications, and services, showcasing your strong debugging skills.
Your expertise extends to wireless communication, network stacks, Linux kernel, device drivers, and hardware abstraction layers. You have a solid understanding of Bluetooth specifications, including Classic and Low Energy, which is crucial for this role. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working with hardware and software teams to integrate new Bluetooth technologies and improve Bluetooth features, performance, efficiency, and reliability.
