Amazon is hiring an Automation Engineer to join their Reliability Maintenance Engineering team. You'll focus on troubleshooting and improving control solutions for automated material handling equipment. This role requires expertise in AWS and a hands-on approach to equipment maintenance.

Who you are

You are a motivated, customer-focused individual with experience in automation engineering. You have a strong understanding of control systems and sensors, and you thrive in hands-on environments where you can actively monitor and repair automated material handling equipment. Your ability to fault find and troubleshoot is complemented by your skills in training others, as you enjoy raising the knowledge level of your team. You are detail-oriented and committed to providing high equipment availability to internal customers.

Desirable

Experience with automated material handling equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems is a plus. Familiarity with continuous improvement projects and a background in training engineering technicians will enhance your candidacy.

What you'll do

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will serve as the site-level Subject Matter Expert for all controls systems and sensors within the building. You will work hands-on to monitor, fault find, and repair systems, ensuring high levels of equipment availability. Your role will involve training technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding, thereby enhancing the overall knowledge within the site. You will actively participate in or lead continuous improvement projects, working within the AMET Controls network to enhance the capability to monitor Material Handling Equipment metrics. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of the Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network.
