Who you are

You are currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Statistics, or Information Sciences. You have a strong foundation in machine learning concepts and are eager to apply your knowledge in a practical setting. You are excited about the opportunity to work on real-world problems and contribute to innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.

You possess a keen interest in various areas of machine learning, including auction systems, game theory, recommender systems, ranking algorithms, AdTech, computer vision, causal inference, and big data analytics. You are comfortable with data analysis and have experience in synthesizing findings to inform model development. You are also proficient in writing clean, efficient, and sustainable code, which is essential for the projects you will be involved in.

Desirable

Experience with programming languages such as Python or R is a plus, as is familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys engaging with peers and mentors, and you are open to learning from others while sharing your insights.

What you'll do

As a Machine Learning Intern at DoorDash, you will engage with a dynamic engineering team focused on building a reliable on-demand logistics engine. You will tackle new challenges in machine learning and artificial intelligence, conducting research that can be applied across various engineering teams. Your work will involve collaborating with team members to develop innovative solutions that enhance DoorDash's marketplace experience for consumers, merchants, and dashers.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to research ideas that can be implemented to improve product experiences. This includes using cutting-edge research in machine learning, natural language processing, recommender systems, ranking algorithms, computer vision, and causal inference to solve real-world problems. You will collect, analyze, and synthesize data findings, using these insights to build relevant machine learning models that drive product improvements.
