Xometry is seeking a Senior Manager of Site Reliability Engineering to lead SRE teams and initiatives. You'll be responsible for building reliable systems and improving operational efficiency using AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools. This role requires 7+ years of experience in software development and site reliability.
You have 7+ years of experience in software development and site reliability engineering, demonstrating a strong ability to lead teams and initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. Your background includes crafting strategic directions for SRE teams, ensuring that systems are cost-effective, secure, fast, and reliable. You possess a deep understanding of observability, monitoring, and metrics practices, which you champion within your teams. Your experience with AWS accounts and networking, as well as Kubernetes clusters, allows you to supervise the development and maintenance of the underlying platforms for deployed software effectively.
You are skilled in establishing automated and self-service strategies that empower development teams and improve their self-sufficiency. Your expertise extends to supervising the development, configuration, and maintenance of observability and monitoring tools, ensuring that your teams have the resources they need to succeed. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineering, product, and program management leaders to define standards and practices that enhance operational rigor and engineering velocity.
While not required, experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and ArgoCD will set you apart. You are familiar with the latest trends in site reliability engineering and are eager to implement best practices that drive efficiency and reliability across the organization.
In this role, you will lead the Site Reliability Engineering team at Xometry, guiding them in building and maintaining reliable systems for our global manufacturing marketplace. You will define and implement standards, metrics, and practices that improve operational rigor and efficiency. Your leadership will help establish automated strategies that enhance the self-sufficiency of development teams, allowing them to focus on delivering high-quality software.
You will champion observability and monitoring practices, ensuring that your teams have the tools they need to measure and improve system performance. Your responsibilities will include supervising the development and maintenance of the underlying platforms, including AWS accounts and Kubernetes clusters, as well as observability and monitoring tools. You will also oversee the configuration and maintenance of CI/CD tools, ensuring that deployment processes are efficient and reliable.
Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with engineering, product, and program management leaders to align on goals and initiatives. You will be responsible for defining the strategic direction for SRE teams, helping to shape the future of site reliability at Xometry. Your efforts will directly contribute to the success of our digital marketplace, connecting manufacturers with the resources they need to thrive.
