SpaceX is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Technician to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety objectives. You'll work closely with engineers and technicians in Long Beach, CA. This role requires knowledge of OSHA, RCRA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
You are an Environmental Health & Safety Technician with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to OSHA, RCRA, EPA, and DOT. You have experience working in a manufacturing environment and are committed to ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety objectives. You are detail-oriented and capable of managing hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal requirements effectively. You understand the importance of proper labeling and storage of hazardous materials and are familiar with maintaining accurate records related to hazardous waste. You are proactive in monitoring compliance and conducting inspections to ensure safety standards are met. You are a team player who collaborates with engineers and technicians to support manufacturing goals while prioritizing safety and environmental compliance.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance with all applicable regulations, including AQMD, LACSD, RWQCB, EPA/RCRA, DOT, and CUPA. You will perform tasks related to hazardous waste handling, including monitoring and managing levels of hazardous waste at each department’s satellite accumulation area. You will ensure that all waste is properly labeled and stored according to its classification. You will accurately record and maintain 90-day hazardous waste drum logs, hazardous waste sign-in sheets, and VOC solvent usage logs. You will conduct required inspections of hazardous waste and hazardous material storage areas and assist in waste shipments with the waste disposal contractor. Additionally, you will perform weekly stormwater inspections per the SWPPP and implement spill prevention countermeasures. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that safety and environmental standards are upheld throughout the manufacturing facility.
