Amazon is hiring a Senior Embedded Engineer to define and build software for Ring IoT products. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features using C, C++, and Embedded Linux. This position requires strong experience in embedded systems and IoT interfaces.
You have 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, particularly in designing and implementing systems for IoT products. Your technical expertise in C and C++ allows you to tackle complex design issues and develop robust software solutions. You are comfortable working with embedded Linux and have a strong understanding of hardware/firmware interfaces. You thrive in collaborative environments, engaging with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and influence technical strategies. You are detail-oriented and take ownership of critical design issues, ensuring high system performance and reliability. You are passionate about solving problems and continuously improving system designs, contributing to all aspects of the software development life cycle.
Experience with agile methodologies and a strong background in system architecture will set you apart. Familiarity with diagnostics and self-healing automation features is a plus, as is a proactive approach to participating in design reviews and post-incident analyses.
In this role, you will define and build the architecture and software for Ring IoT products, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together. You will participate in design reviews for complex embedded systems, providing insights and recommendations based on your expertise. You will lead efforts to refine system requirements and develop interoperability-related features, such as system health monitoring and diagnostics. Your responsibilities will include solving problems using the most appropriate combination of hardware and software solutions, and you will actively engage in reviews of systems owned by partner teams. You will also contribute to the development of self-healing automation features, enhancing the overall user experience of Ring products.
