Overview

Carvana is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to oversee multiple reconditioning lines and ensure production metrics are met. This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a proven track record in operations management, ideally with experience overseeing production lines or similar environments. Your leadership style fosters teamwork and communication, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the company's goals. You are adept at identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. You are open to relocation, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to your career growth within the company.

You possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to conduct root cause analysis and develop actionable plans to address challenges. Your experience includes conducting performance reviews and collaborating with senior leadership to drive site performance. You are committed to upholding safety and compliance standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all associates.

Desirable

Experience in the automotive or reconditioning industry is a plus, as is familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies. You are comfortable leading teams through change and are passionate about developing talent within your organization. Your ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization will be key to your success in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will oversee multiple reconditioning lines within the Inspection & Reconditioning Center, planning production for full working shifts. You will manage facilities to meet or exceed targets in production, cost, and quality, especially when the General Manager is not onsite. Your responsibilities will include identifying bottlenecks that affect site throughput and efficiency, conducting root cause analysis, and developing action plans in collaboration with the site leadership team.

You will conduct weekly site performance reviews with Senior Reconditioning leadership, reporting on performance versus targets, challenges, and countermeasures. Guiding daily site manager huddles will be part of your routine, establishing the day’s tone and priorities. You will also aid in the execution of Continuous Improvement projects at your home site and, if applicable, throughout the region or network, implementing and training process changes.

Fostering growth and development in our Reconditioning Lead and Manager populations will be a key focus, as you support Development Plans and provide regular competency-based feedback. You will embody Carvana values through effective leadership, teamwork, and communication on the shop floor, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines.
