Who you are
You have a strong background in embedded systems and firmware development, with at least 5 years of experience working on complex hardware products. Your expertise in C and C++ allows you to write efficient code for microcontrollers and RTOS environments, ensuring high reliability and performance. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet user needs. Your hands-on experience with electronics lab equipment enables you to troubleshoot and optimize hardware-software interactions effectively. You are familiar with industry standards such as UL 60730 and ISO 26262, which guide your approach to developing safe and compliant firmware. You thrive in a multidisciplinary environment, where your problem-solving skills and technical knowledge contribute to innovative energy solutions.
Desirable
Experience with wireless technologies like WiFi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee is a plus, as it enhances your ability to develop connected devices. Familiarity with clean energy hardware and its applications in residential settings will give you an edge in understanding the market and user requirements. What you'll do
As a Senior Device Software Engineer at SPAN, you will be responsible for defining and implementing firmware features for our flagship SPAN Smart Panel and other hardware products. Your role will involve writing bootloaders and application software that operate on microcontrollers, ensuring seamless interaction with the hardware. You will collaborate closely with product and hardware teams to align firmware development with product goals and timelines. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of our energy solutions, empowering homeowners to manage their energy usage effectively. You will also engage in code reviews and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team. Your work will involve rigorous testing and validation of firmware to meet safety and performance standards, ensuring that our products deliver exceptional user experiences.
