SpaceX is hiring a Supplier Industrialization Engineer, PCBA to manage PCBA processes and products for the Starshield supply chain. You'll collaborate with design engineers and support procurement efforts. This role requires expertise in hardware engineering and related tools.
You have a strong background in hardware engineering, particularly in managing PCBA processes and products. Your experience includes collaborating with design engineers to understand piece part and assembly design intent, ensuring that you can effectively support the supply chain needs of the Starshield program. You are familiar with the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and have a keen eye for detail when it comes to supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.
You possess technical skills in tools such as Altium Designer and AutoCAD, which enable you to create and define supplier technical requirements that meet hardware manufacturing needs. Your understanding of embedded Linux and general Linux environments allows you to navigate complex engineering challenges effectively. You are proactive in ensuring continuity of supply for electronic products, demonstrating your commitment to meeting program level volume targets.
Your collaborative nature makes you an asset to any team, as you work closely with procurement teams to strategically source parts that align with supplier competencies. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of quality systems, which helps you assess and improve supplier capabilities.
Experience with electronic product development and a background in aerospace or defense industries would be advantageous. Familiarity with secure systems and communication technologies is a plus, as it aligns with the goals of the Starshield program.
In this role, you will own and manage the PCBA processes and products for the Starshield supply chain. This includes ensuring that internal production has the necessary infeed assemblies to meet program level volume targets. You will collaborate with design engineers to gain an in-depth understanding of the design intent behind piece parts and assemblies, which will inform your work in managing supplier relationships.
You will support the procurement team by strategically sourcing parts that match supplier competencies, reviewing and assessing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems. Your role will involve creating and defining technical requirements for suppliers, ensuring that they align with the hardware manufacturing needs of the Starshield program.
Additionally, you will implement and monitor the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with selected suppliers, enabling them to meet the rate requirements of the program. Your ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams will be crucial in maintaining the quality and reliability of the products developed for Starshield.
