Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure in Sparks, Nevada. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and familiarity with data center operations.

Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Your attention to detail ensures that you maintain high standards of operational excellence, contributing to the overall reliability of mission-critical facilities. You understand the importance of uptime in data center operations and are committed to delivering exceptional results. You thrive in collaborative settings, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to solve challenging problems. You are eager to learn and grow in your role, taking advantage of opportunities to expand your skill set and knowledge in the field.

Desirable

Experience with diesel generators, UPS systems, and three-phase electrical systems is a plus. Familiarity with cooling systems and data center operations will help you excel in this role. You are proactive in identifying potential issues and are skilled at implementing effective solutions. A background in AWS infrastructure services or similar environments will give you an edge in understanding the complexities of the systems you will be working with.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and mechanical systems that support our data centers. You will work with stand-by diesel generators, UPSs, PDUs, and other critical equipment to ensure seamless operations. Your role will involve conducting regular inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment failures to minimize downtime. You will collaborate with other technicians and engineers to diagnose issues and implement solutions that enhance the reliability of our facilities. You will also participate in projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and safety within the data center environment. Your contributions will directly impact the performance of our infrastructure, helping to maintain the high standards that our customers expect.
