Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Critical Lift & Transport Technician (Launch) to operate various cranes and perform rigging tasks. This role requires 5+ years of experience in crane operation and rigging techniques.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and hold a National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) certification. With over 5 years of experience operating crawler cranes and hydraulic cranes, you are well-versed in the intricacies of delicate lifting operations. Your background includes working in industries such as wind farms, power plants, and oil refineries, where precision and safety are paramount. You possess a strong working knowledge of lifting equipment and can calculate the appropriate tools for various lifting challenges. Your experience with rigging equipment, including shackles, straps, slings, and hoists, makes you a valuable asset in any lifting operation.

Desirable

You have additional certifications such as NCCER/NCCCO rigging certification, which further enhances your qualifications. Your familiarity with the tear-down and build of crawler cranes adds to your expertise, making you a well-rounded technician capable of handling complex tasks. You are comfortable maneuvering suspended loads using multi-point rigging techniques and have a keen eye for detail when it comes to inspection and maintenance of cranes.

What you'll do

In this role, you will operate different types of cranes, including Tadano ATF 100G-4, ATF 130G-5, MLC300, LR11000, LR1300, and LTR1100. Your primary responsibility will be to precisely place non-replaceable loads in designated areas using crane and dual crane lifts. You will support the inspection and maintenance of hydraulic and crawler cranes, ensuring they are in optimal working condition. Your expertise will be crucial in tilting, dipping, and turning suspended loads to navigate around obstacles, utilizing your multi-point rigging techniques. You will also assist with rigging and driving forklifts, contributing to the overall efficiency of the launch operations.
