Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure in Canton, Mississippi. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

Your experience includes working with diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling equipment, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. You understand the importance of uptime in data centers and are committed to maintaining high standards of performance. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with diverse groups of engineers and specialists to solve complex problems. You are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, adapting to new technologies and methodologies as needed. You take pride in your work and are motivated by the impact you have on global digital experiences.

Desirable

Experience with AWS infrastructure and data center operations is a plus, as is familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for electrical and mechanical systems. You may have certifications or training in relevant fields, which will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities that support AWS data centers. Your day-to-day tasks will include operating and maintaining stand-by diesel generators, UPS systems, and cooling equipment such as centrifugal chillers and air handlers. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure that all systems are functioning optimally, contributing to the overall uptime of the data center. You will also participate in routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities, documenting your findings and collaborating with your team to address any issues that arise. Your role will require you to be proactive in identifying potential problems and implementing solutions to mitigate downtime.
