Axon is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I to develop and sustain manufacturing processes for high-volume production. You'll collaborate with design teams and utilize SolidWorks for tooling and fixtures. This role requires expertise in manufacturing engineering.
You have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with experience in developing and sustaining processes that meet cost, ergonomic, quality, and cycle time requirements for high-volume production. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product design and R&D teams to influence manufacturability early in the product lifecycle. Your expertise in design-for-manufacturing (DFM), materials selection, and assembly tolerances sets you apart.
You are proficient in using SolidWorks for designing and implementing production tooling, fixtures, and assembly methods. Your analytical skills enable you to lead process characterization and optimization using data-driven methodologies such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC). You understand the importance of compliance with laws, regulations, and ordinances, ensuring that all manufacturing processes adhere to industry standards.
You are committed to continuous improvement and have a track record of driving real change in manufacturing environments. Your ability to connect with diverse perspectives and foster teamwork is essential in achieving the mission of protecting life through reliable and consistent manufacturing of life-saving technology.
Experience with high-volume production environments and familiarity with safety and justice technology would be advantageous. A background in collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product manufacturability is also a plus.
In this role, you will be part of a critical team at Axon, ensuring that life-saving technology can be manufactured reliably and consistently. You will work onsite at the Phoenix manufacturing plant, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Director for De-Escalation Devices. Your responsibilities will include developing and sustaining manufacturing processes that meet various requirements, including cost, ergonomics, quality, and cycle time.
You will collaborate closely with Product Design and R&D teams to provide feedback on design-for-manufacturing, materials selection, and assembly tolerances. Your role will involve designing and implementing production tooling, fixtures, and assembly methods using SolidWorks, ensuring that all designs are optimized for manufacturability.
Leading process characterization and optimization will be a key aspect of your job, utilizing methodologies such as DOE and SPC to drive improvements. You will evaluate and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ordinances, empowering all employees to perform their best work.
