SpaceX is hiring a Software Engineer for the Starship project to build security infrastructure for spacecraft and communications. You'll work with secure software development practices and require skills in cryptography and network security.
You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on security — your experience includes defining and building security infrastructure for complex systems. You understand the security design of today's Internet and are familiar with cryptographic primitives. You prioritize effectively and can work at various levels of abstraction, ensuring that security is integrated into the software development life cycle. You have a track record of shipping reliable software and are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish secure practices.
Experience with secure software development life cycles and applied cryptography is a plus. Familiarity with network security and operating system security will enhance your ability to contribute to the Starship project.
As a Software Engineer on the Starship Software team, you will be responsible for defining and building the security infrastructure that protects Starship vehicles, pads, operator UIs, and communications links from unauthorized access, data tampering, denial-of-service, and other attacks. You will collaborate closely with the larger software team to establish and maintain secure software development practices. Your role will involve working on various aspects of security, ensuring that all components of the Starship system are resilient against potential threats. You will also engage in code reviews and contribute to the overall security architecture of the software.
At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team focused on enabling human life on Mars.
