Together AI is seeking a Senior Manager for Data Center Strategy & Compute Supply to develop and execute their global data center strategy. You'll blend technical understanding with strategic planning and financial analysis. This role requires expertise in data center design and vendor management.
You have a strong background in data center strategy and operations, with at least 5 years of experience in managing infrastructure projects. Your expertise in data center design — including power, cooling, and networking — allows you to evaluate and implement effective strategies for scaling AI cloud infrastructure. You possess a solid understanding of financial analysis and commercial negotiation, enabling you to make informed decisions that balance cost and performance.
You are skilled in vendor management, having successfully led commercial evaluations and negotiations with colocation, power, and network providers. Your analytical mindset allows you to maintain and utilize planning models that integrate supply availability and demand forecasts effectively. You thrive in cross-functional environments, collaborating with teams in infrastructure, product, and finance to align infrastructure investments with organizational needs.
Experience with GPU supply chain management and familiarity with the latest GPU technologies will set you apart. You have a knack for building vendor intelligence frameworks and benchmarking processes that enhance decision-making. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is a key asset in your role.
As the first Data Center Strategy hire at Together AI, you will develop and execute the company's global data center strategy. This includes evaluating potential sites for data centers, planning capacity expansions, and diversifying vendor partnerships to ensure optimal performance. You will lead commercial and technical evaluations for various vendors, tracking delivery schedules, SLAs, uptime, and cost performance to ensure that Together AI's infrastructure is robust and scalable.
You will run and negotiate RFPs for new data center capacity or retrofits, ensuring that the balance of cost, risk, and scalability is maintained. Your role will involve maintaining a live compute and facility planning model that integrates supply availability, demand forecasts, and GPU generation roadmaps. You will partner cross-functionally with teams in Infra, Product, GTM, and Finance to ensure that infrastructure investment decisions are closely tied to product demands and R&D needs.
