Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. If you hold an advanced degree, you may qualify with just 1 year of experience. You possess a solid understanding of speech/audio technologies, reinforcement learning, and machine learning infrastructure, having worked on model deployment, evaluation, optimization, and debugging. Your experience includes working with C++ and infrastructure systems, as well as cloud technologies. You are familiar with Python and have a keen interest in machine learning infrastructure and API design. You are adaptable, able to move quickly in response to changing requirements, and possess excellent communication skills that enable you to organize stakeholders across teams. You are passionate about service health and system maintainability.

Desirable

A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields is preferred. You have 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, and you are comfortable collaborating with teams such as CoreML, Google DeepMind, and Google Labs to deliver high-performance APIs that scale globally.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain the infrastructure behind Vertex AI’s GenAI APIs, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and performant. You will collaborate with various teams to develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. Your responsibilities will include developing solutions to ship Gemini to cloud customers and ensuring the delivery of highly available and secure APIs. You will also engage in debugging complex distributed systems issues and contribute to the overall architecture of the systems you work on.
