We are looking for a System Development Manager III to lead the Ignition, Platform Engineering team. This team will own the AWS-based middleware layer that enables secure, reliable integration between ServiceNow (SaaS) and Amazon’s internal systems. It will also have a group of ServiceNow Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that serve as a technical leaders and trusted advisors, ensuring ServiceNow is leveraged to deliver scalable, automated, and high-quality IT services across the enterprise.
As a key member of the team, you will be ensuring the ServiceNow platform is highly available, cost-optimized, and compliant with Amazon Security policies. You will partner closely with architects, application developers, and security engineers to deliver reusable integration patterns that accelerate ServiceNow adoption across the enterprise.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead and manage a team that drives organizational standards for operational excellence and resiliency.
• Establish relationships with internal and external partners and peer stakeholders to understand and meet their needs while operating existing systems at a high level of Operational Excellence.
• Develop and maintain a culture of innovation and operational excellence in the teams.
• Manage the design and development of platform orchestration and automation for third party tools like ServiceNow.
• Hiring, developing, and retaining a world class engineering team that meets Amazon’s high bar.
• A successful candidate will be an experienced leader with an established background in developing and operating platforms and services, developing and hiring top talent, technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a dynamic fast paced environment.

- 5+ years of managing system or software development teams experience
- 3+ years of systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading edge IT organization experience
- 7+ years of relevant hands-on systems engineering and administrative work in networking, storage systems, operating systems experience
- Experience in systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading-edge IT organization
- Experience (hands-on) in systems engineering and administrative work in networking, storage systems, and operating systems- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience with Agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.)
- Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns
