Overview

Amazon is hiring a WHS Officer to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations in their Fulfillment Center. You'll lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety. This role requires strong communication skills and safety program knowledge.

Who you are

You have a strong background in workplace safety and compliance, demonstrating the ability to partner effectively with site operations teams. Your expertise in safety policies and local regulations allows you to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for all associates. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey clear and concise messages to various stakeholders. You are adept at building trust and confidence with the operations team, influencing change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.

Your experience includes leading safety initiatives and training operations leaders in company safety policies. You have a keen understanding of ergonomic risks and are committed to reducing these through continuous improvement initiatives. You are proactive in identifying best practices and incorporating them into safety standards, ensuring that the workplace remains compliant and safe.

You are a natural leader, capable of guiding a team of safety specialists and coordinators. You create and execute leadership development plans for your team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Your ability to analyze safety data and implement effective strategies is crucial in achieving the best results for your customers.

Desirable

Experience in a fulfillment center or similar environment is a plus, as is familiarity with lean principles and kaizen methodologies. A background in safety program management and knowledge of environmental and ergonomic standards will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

What you'll do

As a WHS Officer at Amazon, you will be responsible for executing company safety policies and ensuring compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. You will partner with the site operations team to lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing conditional and ergonomic risks in processes. Your role will involve conducting comprehensive risk assessments and analyzing safety data to identify areas for improvement.

You will instruct and train operations leaders on company safety policies, assisting site teams in incorporating safety standards into their daily operations. Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential as you send clear, concise, and consistent messages regarding safety practices. You will also be responsible for identifying best practices and integrating them into the company's safety policies to enhance workplace safety.

Leading a team of safety specialists, coordinators, and onsite first aid associates, you will create and execute leadership development plans to ensure your team is well-equipped to handle safety challenges. Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering a culture of safety and compliance within the fulfillment center.
