SpaceX is hiring an Integration Technician for the Starship project to integrate secondary structures, avionics, and propulsion components. You'll work with mechanical and electrical systems at Starbase, TX.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 1 year of experience with propulsion, mechanical, automotive, electrical, or avionics hardware installation. You may also have completed a trades program, which has equipped you with the necessary skills for this role. Your hands-on experience with both large and small fragile assemblies makes you a valuable asset to the team. You are comfortable using precision calibrated tools and have a strong understanding of engineering drawings and work instructions. You are safety-conscious and ensure that all production services are performed professionally and on time. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with production engineers to develop and document integration processes.
Having an FAA Airframe and PowerPlant license is a plus, as it demonstrates your commitment to the aviation industry and your technical expertise. Experience in the aerospace sector or with similar hardware installations will set you apart from other candidates.
As an Integration Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for the integration of all secondary structures, avionics, and stage propulsion components and systems to the vehicle’s primary structure. You will stage, set up, assemble, test, and install flight hardware, ensuring that all components are integrated seamlessly. Your role will involve heavy rigging for large assemblies and operating personnel platforms such as boom lifts and scissor lifts. You will read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to perform your tasks accurately. Additionally, you will conduct fluids and pneumatic testing to ensure that all systems function correctly. Collaboration with production engineers will be key as you develop and document integration processes, contributing to the overall success of the Starship project.
