Job Description

The Rufus AI team is seeking a Sr. Product Manager-Tech (PMT) who is passionate about technology, innovation, and engaging with stakeholders and customers at Amazon scale. This role will be charged with building a suite of capabilities that force-multiplies Rufus’ tech and non-tech workforce, enabling prompting, evaluation, model alignment, and fine-tuning of the Rufus LLM across marketplaces. This will unlock rapid iterations and improvements for Rufus’ fast-growing, worldwide user base. The successful candidate will have familiarity with LLM-training techniques and a passion for learning about developments in the space. They must be adept at working with both Science and Engineering teams.

Key job responsibilities
* Drive product development efforts, including research, requirements definition, metrics analysis, technical specifications, development, and launch.

* Develop LLM-assisted workflows and annotation solutions (e.g. LLM as a judge), optimizing for quality, throughput, and the experience of our AI trainers.

* Write business and product requirements documents, ensuring clear communication and coordination with science, engineering, and product teams.

* Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints, all under tight timelines.

* Assess existing products for opportunities to expand usage, innovate, and improve.

A day in the life
You will lead capabilities development that’s critical to training and improving Amazon’s Shopping LLM. You will partner closely with dedicated Science and Engineering teams, who are invested in creating solutions that makes it easier, faster, and more intuitive for our non-coding workforce to iterate and improve Rufus for customers. You will be part of an Editorial team, which includes creative product and program managers, writers, editors, and language engineers. About the team
We are the high-performing team behind Amazon’s generative AI-powered shopping assistant. Rufus makes it easy for customers to find and discover the best products to meet their unique needs by helping with product research, providing comparisons and recommendations, answering specific product questions, and more. This team is inherently high-visibility and highly cross-functional, with collaboration and influence across Product, Science, and Engineering teams.- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
- Exposure to LLM training techniques and workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
