Overview

Relativity is seeking a Senior Manual Weld Technician for their Second Shift to contribute to the manufacturing of rockets. This role involves collaboration with engineers and technicians to build primary structures for the Terran R vehicle. Experience in welding and manufacturing processes is essential.

Job Description

Who you are

You have extensive experience in manual welding, ideally in a manufacturing or aerospace environment — your skills in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings enable you to execute complex welding tasks with precision. You understand the importance of quality control and safety standards in a production setting, ensuring that every weld meets the highest specifications. Your ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other technicians is key, as you will be part of a team that turns innovative designs into reality. You thrive in environments where problem-solving is essential, and you are eager to contribute to projects that push the boundaries of technology.

Desirable

Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes is a plus, as is familiarity with various welding techniques such as TIG and MIG. You may also have certifications that demonstrate your welding proficiency and commitment to safety. A background in working with composite materials or advanced manufacturing technologies would further enhance your candidacy.

What you'll do

As a Senior Manual Weld Technician, you will be responsible for executing welding tasks on the Terran R vehicle's primary structures — your role will involve setting up welding equipment, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring that all welds are completed to specification. You will collaborate closely with engineers to understand design requirements and provide feedback on manufacturability. Your expertise will help identify potential issues early in the production process, allowing for timely adjustments and improvements. You will also participate in continuous improvement initiatives, sharing your insights on welding techniques and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

In addition to hands-on welding, you will document your work and maintain accurate records of production activities — this documentation is crucial for quality assurance and compliance with industry standards. You will also be involved in training and mentoring junior technicians, sharing your knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of excellence within the team. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the Terran R program, as you help build the systems that will enable future space exploration.

What we offer

Relativity Space offers a competitive salary range of $35.25—$45.65 USD per hour, reflecting your skills and experience. You will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and collaboration, working in a state-of-the-art facility designed for cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing. The company culture emphasizes autonomy and ownership, allowing you to make meaningful contributions to projects that matter. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe in the potential of diverse backgrounds and perspectives to drive success.
