Job Description

Are you passionate about creating intuitive user experiences that solve complex problems? At Infrastructure Reliability Engineering (IRE), we build scalable solutions that ensure the reliability of Amazon's critical systems. Our team develops and operates tools that detect and prevent outages to maintain high availability across global infrastructure. We're seeking a talented Sr. UX Designer to help visualize complex data and create interfaces that enable our customers to quickly identify and resolve issues.

The team is responsible for building intelligent and real-time insights into service and network availability. Your designs will support visibility into anomalous service behavior to prevent and quickly recover from incidents, ensuring high availability to keep the Customer Promise.

To succeed, you must be a strategic thinker who can transform complex business problems into clear, actionable technical specifications and user experiences. As a Sr. UX Designer, you'll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to create intuitive interfaces for issue identification, incident management and communication, and troubleshooting. You'll transform complex operational data into clear, actionable visualizations that help teams maintain system reliability. Your work will not only solve today's challenges but help define the future of how we visualize and act on operational data.


Key job responsibilities
- Design intuitive interfaces and data visualizations that make complex system relationships and anomalies immediately apparent
- Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to define requirements and design solutions
- Conduct user research to understand pain points and validate design solutions
- Develop and maintain design systems that ensure consistency across tools
- Balance technical constraints with user needs to create practical, scalable solutions
- Advocate for user-centered design principles across the organization
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to design standards
- Thrive in ambiguity, exploring new problem spaces to develop innovative solutions
- Continuously learn and iterate based on user feedback and changing requirements

- Have an available online portfolio
