Notion is seeking a Head of Internal Audit to establish and lead their Internal Audit function as they scale towards becoming a public company. You'll work closely with Finance, Legal, IT, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure robust internal controls. This role requires strong expertise in SOX compliance and risk management.
You have extensive experience in internal audit functions, ideally with a focus on SOX compliance and risk management — you've successfully established audit programs from the ground up and understand the intricacies of internal controls in a growing organization. Your leadership skills shine through as you build and mentor teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high ethical standards.
You possess a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance frameworks — your ability to navigate complex regulatory environments has been proven in previous roles, where you've implemented effective audit methodologies and risk assessment frameworks. You are detail-oriented and analytical, with a knack for identifying potential risks and areas for improvement.
Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, IT, Security, and Engineering — you understand the importance of protecting organizational integrity and are committed to supporting the company's mission through robust internal controls. You thrive in environments that require in-person collaboration and are comfortable leading discussions that drive strategic decisions.
Experience in a technology company or a startup environment is a plus — you understand the unique challenges that come with scaling a business and are adept at adapting audit practices to fit evolving needs. Familiarity with audit software and tools will enhance your ability to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
As the Head of Internal Audit, you will establish Notion's Internal Audit function from the ground up, developing audit methodologies, risk assessment frameworks, and reporting processes that align with the company's growth objectives. You will build and manage the Internal Audit team, hiring and mentoring team members to ensure a high standard of performance and ethical conduct.
You will implement SOX compliance measures, designing and executing the necessary controls to meet regulatory requirements — your expertise will be critical in ensuring that Notion is well-prepared for its transition to a public company. You will conduct regular audits and assessments, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership on risk management and internal controls.
Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with various departments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them — your ability to communicate effectively and build relationships will be essential in fostering a culture of compliance and accountability across the organization.
Notion offers a competitive salary range of $300,000 - $350,000 per year for this role, reflecting the importance of the position within the company. You will have the opportunity to shape the Internal Audit function and make a significant impact as Notion continues to grow and innovate.
