Google is seeking an Associate Energy Market Development professional to support the planning and development of business agreements in the European energy markets. You'll leverage your knowledge of grid tariffs and regulatory frameworks to negotiate cost-effective solutions. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Law, Policy, Economics, or have equivalent practical experience. With at least 2 years of experience managing projects or supporting the planning and development of business agreements, you are well-versed in the intricacies of European energy markets. Your background includes experience with grid tariffs, market design, and regulatory frameworks, ideally gained while working within an energy regulator or the regulatory unit of an energy supplier, transmission system operator (TSO), or distribution system operator (DSO). You possess a strong understanding of the European energy market design, structure, and stakeholder ecosystem, enabling you to develop data-driven recommendations and action plans. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be engaging with various stakeholders.
In this role, you will be part of Google's Strategic Negotiation team, working behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future. Your deep market knowledge will be combined with tech industry insights to negotiate cost-effective solutions that support Google's infrastructure growth. You will collaborate with specific project teams to negotiate deals, manage vendor and partner relationships, and present deal recommendations to Google's Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations will have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs, impacting every part of the business. You will also work cross-functionally with teams across Google’s Global Infrastructure and Public Policy to develop policy and market positions, communicating these to key constituencies. Supporting advocacy work with market research and quantified analytics will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will engaging in energy supply discussions alongside site and energy strategic negotiators.
