Overview

Amazon is hiring an Embedded Engineer for the Amazon Leo project to develop embedded software for satellite communication devices. You'll work with Rust, C, and C++ in Redmond, Washington.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in embedded software development, with experience in designing and deploying reliable software for consumer electronic products. Your expertise includes working with languages such as Rust, C, and C++, and you are familiar with real-time embedded software philosophies and practices. You have a solid understanding of embedded Linux or other Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), and you are skilled in troubleshooting embedded software using techniques like reviewing schematics and logic analyzers.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy participating in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing and code coverage. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex challenges in embedded systems effectively. You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, meeting the export control requirements for this role.

Desirable

Experience with bare-metal programming and familiarity with consumer electronics will be advantageous. A passion for satellite technology and a desire to contribute to innovative projects like Amazon Leo will set you apart.

What you'll do

As an Embedded Engineer at Amazon Leo, you will be responsible for developing embedded software for terrestrial devices within the Amazon Leo satellite system. You will engage in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, ensuring that the software you create meets the high standards required for reliable internet connectivity. Your role will involve designing, crafting, and deploying software that supports a wide range of consumer electronic products.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your work will include coding, testing, and ensuring code/test coverage to maintain the quality of the software. You will also participate in troubleshooting and debugging efforts, utilizing your expertise in embedded systems to resolve issues efficiently.
