Middesk is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to build and maintain relationships with government agencies as part of their compliance function. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
You have a strong background in compliance and government relations, ideally with experience in the fintech or technology sectors. You are a clear and effective communicator who can explain complex topics in simple, actionable terms. Your organizational skills are top-notch, and you have a process-oriented mindset that drives you to build systems that scale. You thrive in ambiguous, early-stage environments and are excited to take initiatives from zero to one. You are willing and able to travel to state capitals, especially in the early stages before this function is fully built out.
Experience working with state and local government agencies is a plus. Familiarity with business identity verification processes and compliance frameworks will help you excel in this role. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for building relationships will set you apart.
As the founding member of our compliance function, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Middesk can continue to deliver on its mission as we scale. You will be responsible for building and maintaining sustainable relationships with state and local government agencies that are essential for our Entity products. This role will require you to collaborate closely with various teams, including Legal, Entity Operations, Product Partnerships, and Product Ops, to ensure compliance across all operations. You will have significant ownership and autonomy in this role, allowing you to shape the compliance function from the ground up. Over time, as the function grows, you may take on player/coach responsibilities, although this will not be a pure people management role.
