Software Engineer III, Backend Diagnostic, Google Cloud

Who you are

You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. If you hold a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, that’s even better. You bring 3 years of experience in software engineering or a related field, and you have a proven track record of building and maintaining production services. Your experience with SQL and dashboard tools is essential, as is your proficiency in C++ and Go. You also have familiarity with embedded systems, which will be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Backend Engineer III at Google, you will be responsible for developing software that executes across multiple systems, focusing on system health verification, performance characterization, and reliability. You will work on critical projects that support the health of Google’s Data Centers, enabling testing and decision-making on hardware and software design. Your role will involve creating dashboards to analyze results and ensure that our services operate at peak performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to push technology forward, bringing fresh ideas from various areas including distributed computing and large-scale system design.
