What you'll do

In this role, you will lead efforts to improve the backend systems that power Instacart's grocery delivery service. Your primary focus will be on enhancing content discoverability and optimizing purchase processes, ensuring that users have a seamless experience from browsing to checkout.

You will collaborate with product managers and designers to understand user journeys and identify areas for improvement. By developing robust backend architectures, you will support advanced recommendation systems that cater to the diverse needs of our customers.

Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing APIs that are scalable and secure, as well as monitoring system performance to identify and resolve issues proactively. You will also be involved in writing technical documentation to ensure that your work is well-documented and easily understandable for future reference.

As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and best practices to help them grow in their careers. You will participate in sprint planning and retrospectives, contributing to the overall improvement of team processes and workflows.
