Who you are

You have a strong background in real-time 3D systems and a deep understanding of graphics programming — your experience with OpenGL and Unity has equipped you with the skills to tackle complex rendering challenges. You are familiar with build technologies and CI/CD pipelines, enabling you to design and maintain robust development infrastructures that support high-performance applications.

Your expertise in performance testing and shader compilation pipelines allows you to optimize workflows specific to real-time 3D workloads — you understand the nuances of visual regression systems and how they contribute to delivering cutting-edge spatial computing capabilities. You thrive in collaborative environments, where you can share your knowledge and learn from others, contributing to a culture of innovation.

You are passionate about spatial computing and its potential to change how we interact with digital content — your curiosity drives you to explore new technologies and methodologies that enhance user experiences. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement, always seeking ways to refine your skills and expand your knowledge base.

Desirable

Experience with augmented reality frameworks such as ARKit or ARCore would be a plus, as would familiarity with WebXR for web-based applications. A background in automation and test frameworks can further enhance your contributions to the RealityKit team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will join the RealityKit framework and tools team, where you will be responsible for building the infrastructure that powers Apple's spatial computing platform. You will design and maintain systems that enable the team to deliver high-quality rendering and spatial capabilities, ensuring that the development process is efficient and effective.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers to implement performance testing harnesses and optimize shader compilation pipelines — your insights will help shape the direction of the team's projects and ensure that they meet the high standards expected at Apple. You will also work on visual regression systems that help maintain the integrity of the user experience as new features are developed.

Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving issues related to build optimizations specific to real-time 3D workloads — you will be a key player in ensuring that the RealityKit team can deliver innovative solutions that enhance the user experience. You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team, sharing your expertise and helping to mentor junior engineers.
