Job Description

Amazon's Communications and Corporate Responsibility organization is seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to lead end-to-end story production and channel optimization across our internal channels. This role will drive strategic content planning, stakeholder management, and performance analysis to elevate the impact of our communications reaching Amazon's global corporate employee base. The role will also support key efforts to improve search engine optimization across our internal news content.

Key job responsibilities
Multi-Channel Production Management:
• Oversee end-to-end story production of internal communications from concept to publication
• Design targeting approach for each story based on content relevance and audience impact
• Optimize content for each platform's unique requirements and audience segments
• Manage intranet banner strategy and search optimization efforts
• Ensure consistent quality and messaging across all touchpoints
• Lead breaking news and crisis communications workflows

Strategic Content Planning & Audience Management:
• Define and maintain targeting criteria for different employee segments
• Develop comprehensive cross-channel plans aligned with audience needs
• Drive experimentation to optimize audience engagement
• Identify opportunities for proactive storytelling aligned with company priorities
• Lead cross-functional planning sessions to align on content roadmaps

Audience & Stakeholder Partnership:
• Own relationships with key stakeholders to understand audience and business needs
• Provide strategic counsel on audience segmentation and content distribution
• Collaborate with Editorial, Design, and Channel teams to elevate content quality

Performance Analysis & Optimization:
• Track audience engagement metrics across channels
• Analyze targeting effectiveness and recommend improvements
• Present data-driven insights on audience behavior and content performance
• Drive continuous improvement of targeting strategy based on performance data


A day in the life
You're the strategic mind ensuring our internal communications drive impact across channels. Your morning begins with a cross-functional planning meeting to align on upcoming company priorities and story opportunities. You then review performance data from recent campaigns, identifying trends to inform your content strategy. By midday, you're collaborating with business partners on a major announcement, providing counsel on channel approach. In the afternoon, you lead a team brainstorm on innovative ways to boost engagement with our intranet content. You wrap up by presenting channel performance insights to leadership, recommending data-driven optimizations to our channels strategy.

About the team
Internal Corporate Communications operates as Amazon's central source for internal company news and events, reaching a global audience of corporate employees. Our team develops and delivers news, announcements, and strategic communications that help employees understand Amazon's business, culture, and workplace, balancing information employees want with information they need to know.- 3+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent writing and editing abilities
- Experience with content management systems and analytics tools- Experience leading communications for a global organization
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of emerging trends in internal communications and employee engagement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $155,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
