Shape the future of Amazon's device development tools by driving technical program execution across our most complex, cross-platform initiatives. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you'll lead cross-functional programs that enable large-scale product management for millions of Amazon devices worldwide - from Echo and Alexa to Fire TV, Kindle, and emerging connected devices.

You'll be the leader defining execution strategies and driving delivery across multiple service teams, working directly with senior leadership to set program vision and priorities. This role offers the opportunity to simplify complex technical work and deliver measurable impact while building trust through clear communication and demonstrated results.

- Lead program execution for horizontally-scaled services supporting all Amazon device product lines
- Drive cross-team alignment on technical standards and delivery milestones that impact millions of customers
- Partner with engineering teams to balance speed with scale, finding practical paths forward
- Build trust with diverse stakeholders by making program value visible and communicating progress clearly
- Influence technical priorities and organizational changes to enable innovative customer experiences

Key job responsibilities

This role combines strategic program management, technical leadership, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver large-scale platform capabilities that serve multiple product lines.

Program Strategy & Execution
- Lead complex cross-functional technical programs from conception through delivery
- Define and drive program strategy, roadmaps, and success metrics
- Coordinate dependencies and unblock delivery across multiple engineering teams
- Identify and escalate risks effectively to drive timely resolution
Technical Leadership
- Review and influence technical designs and architecture decisions
- Drive adoption of technical standards across teams
- Define integration approaches that scale across multiple services
- Create technical implementation plans that balance speed and quality
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with engineering teams and senior leadership
- Drive alignment and resolution of contentious technical issues
- Negotiate resources and priorities across organizational boundaries
- Provide timely and clear updates on program status and risks

A day in the life
As a Senior Technical Program Manager in Device Software and Services, you'll drive complex technical initiatives that enable efficient development and management of Amazon devices at scale. You'll find yourself whiteboarding with developers to map out technical solutions, reviewing PR/FAQs that shape quarterly priorities, and helping teams successfully launch new services.

Stakeholders & Customers: You'll partner with Engineering Managers, Product Leaders, and technical teams across Amazon's device organization. Your work streamlines processes for internal teams who build and manage devices, ultimately helping them deliver better experiences to millions of customers worldwide.

Problems You'll Solve: You'll dive deep into architecture discussions with senior engineers, coordinate complex technical programs across teams, and find elegant solutions to challenging integration problems. Your impact comes from making complex systems work together seamlessly and helping diverse technical organizations deliver faster for our customers.

We provide the essential tools and services that power the development of these devices, from concept to launch and beyond.

Our team builds the unified development platform that brings together these diverse tools and services. We're reimagining how Amazon builds devices at scale by simplifying complex technical processes and creating standardized patterns that help teams work more efficiently to bring new products to life.
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service, or experience in technical support and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
