SpaceX is seeking a Pipe Welder for their Starship launch site in Starbase, TX. The role involves welding piping and structural steel, requiring specialized skills in welding techniques and safety standards.
You are a skilled welder with experience in specialized trades, particularly in welding piping and structural steel. You understand the importance of safety and precision in your work, ensuring that all welding assignments are completed on time and to the highest standards. You are capable of analyzing engineering drawings and specifications to effectively plan your welding operations, even when procedural information is not readily available. Your attention to detail allows you to visually inspect your own welds according to AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3 standards, ensuring quality and compliance with safety regulations.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with lead welders and other team members to achieve operational goals. As a Pipe Welder at SpaceX, you will be responsible for completing welding assignments for the construction and repair of structural stands at the Starship launch site. You will utilize hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to assemble metal components and parts, ensuring that all work is performed safely and professionally. You will cut, trim, or scarf metal objects as needed, fitting and fabricating components to precise dimensions. Under the supervision of a lead welder, you will analyze engineering drawings to plan your welding operations effectively.
Your role will also involve visually inspecting your welds to ensure they meet the required standards, and you will be expected to maintain a high level of quality in your work. You will be part of a team that is focused on improving operations and decreasing turnaround times, contributing to the overall efficiency of the site. Additionally, you may be assigned other related duties as needed, supporting the operational needs of the facility.
