The Amazon Digital and Emerging Payments (DEP) team’s vision is to delight our customers with the best payment experience in the world! Our team takes a world view of payments for all of Amazon and builds highly customized and seamless payment experiences for our global customers. This focuses on geography and customer requires working on different technologies such as Android, Amazon Fire, and back-end platform systems in order to meet the needs of our customers. Our back-end systems are always available and guarantee that our customers' orders are never lost and always processed even when downstream services are down.
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to play a key role in the DEP team, primarily building Amazon's Mexico Payments products. This role offers exciting challenges and the opportunity to influence and drive a growing payments area.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead and influence architectural decisions and technology strategies to create a world-class developer experience
- Drive data-informed decisions through metrics analysis to accelerate feature development and iteration
- Design and implement scalable solutions to complex technical challenges while maintaining code elegance
- Champion and enforce high standards in code quality, maintainability, security, and performance through code reviews and technical guidance
- Establish, document, and evolve engineering best practices and standards across the organization
- Advocate for user needs by setting high standards for feature functionality, usability, and performance while ensuring continuous user feedback integration

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
