Waymo is seeking a Software Engineer for their Simulation Infrastructure team to design and build scalable simulation products. You'll work with C++ and Golang to tackle complex technical challenges. This role requires 3+ years of experience in infrastructure platforms.
You have 3+ years of experience designing, building, or maintaining FAANG-scale infrastructure platforms — you've tackled challenges that require innovative solutions and a deep understanding of system architecture. Your coding expertise in C++ and/or Golang is strong, allowing you to develop robust and efficient software solutions. You are familiar with scheduling in distributed systems and observability in large-scale applications, which helps you ensure the reliability and performance of the systems you build. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Data Scientists to deliver impactful results. You are passionate about autonomous driving technology and are eager to contribute to the mission of improving mobility and safety on the roads. In this hybrid role, you will report to the Software Engineering Manager and be responsible for designing features and systems that enhance the Waymo Driver's capabilities. You will code and debug software, ensuring that it meets the high standards required for autonomous driving technology. Participating in on-call rotations will be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to address any issues that arise in real-time. You will develop new features that contribute to the scalability and reliability of the simulation infrastructure, working on projects that evaluate the Waymo Driver's software stack at a massive scale. Your role will involve solving complex technical challenges and building services and tools that cater to a broad range of customers. You will collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that the simulation products are effective and meet user needs.
Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $170,000—$216,000 USD, along with eligibility to participate in the discretionary annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
