Overview

Datadog is hiring a Commercial & Mid Market Sales Engineer to provide technical expertise through sales presentations and product demonstrations. You'll work closely with the Sales team to articulate the value proposition and engage with customers during the trial phase. This role requires strong technical skills and experience in sales engineering.

Who you are

You have a strong background in sales engineering, ideally with experience in the tech industry. You are skilled at providing technical expertise during sales presentations and product demonstrations, helping to qualify and close opportunities with customers and partners. You understand the importance of customer feedback and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are passionate about educating customers on observability risks that are meaningful to their business and can build and execute evaluation plans with customers. You thrive in a collaborative environment and value the relationships built within a team.

Desirable

Experience with observability tools or similar technologies is a plus. Familiarity with CRM systems and the ability to maintain accurate notes and feedback regarding customer interactions will help you succeed in this role. You are proactive in engaging with customers and have a keen understanding of the competitive landscape.

What you'll do

In this role, you will partner with the Sales team to articulate the overall Datadog value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers. You will own the technical engagement with customers during the trial phase, ensuring they understand the value of Datadog's offerings. Your responsibilities will include delivering product and technical briefings, presentations, and demonstrations to potential clients. You will maintain accurate notes and feedback in the CRM regarding customer input, both wins and losses, and proactively engage with customers and Datadog's business and technical teams regarding product feedback and the competitive landscape. You will also help prioritize features based on input from customers, competitors, and partners, ensuring that the product team is aligned with customer needs.
