Data Center Operations Facilities Manager

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 8 years of experience in data center operations or relevant operational experience in industries such as power generation, HVAC, or industrial manufacturing. You possess 5 years of experience managing technical teams and vendors responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure and components. Your leadership skills are excellent, allowing you to collaborate effectively at all levels within the organization. You have a strong understanding of mission-critical systems operations and are knowledgeable about the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, and chillers.

Desirable

Experience in collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards is preferred. You have a background in mission-critical systems operations, such as power generation or data centers, and you are familiar with the intricacies of high-consequence environments. Your ability to think creatively and organize effectively makes you a valuable asset in managing operational strategies and deployments across multiple sites.

What you'll do

In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of Google’s data center facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally and that the environment is conducive to productivity. You will set strategy and plan deployments across multiple sites, integrating Google-wide strategy and execution with internal and external business partners. Your responsibilities will include managing established budgets and forecasting expenses to ensure cost-effective operations focused on total cost of ownership. You will lead efforts to innovate traditional data center operations, demonstrating your ability to think outside the box while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
